There is nothing quite like a visit to Haiti to help junior athletes develop their academic, athletic, and emotional talents.  During your time in Haiti you will teach English classes, play tennis and chess, share your talents, and develop lasting relationships.  For the experience of a lifetime join us here in Haiti as a H.E.R.O. Volunteer.

The H.E.R.O. Story

H.E.R.O. was founded by Dr. Steven Kirby and Michele Deardorff in response to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti in 2010.  After surviving the earthquake Steven and Michele provided first-aid for 10 days until being evacuated by Trinity Air Ambulance to the United States.  In the 5 years since H.E.R.O.'s incorporation we have served more than 500 children by providing academic and athletic opportunities for the most vulnerable children in Haiti.  H.E.R.O. has created the education/sports pipeline with the intention of using academics and athletics to secure scholarships to colleges and universities across the United States.  The foundation of our programs reflect our core values of character, education, and athletics.  At H.E.R.O. we hope that you will join us in our mission to achieve academic and athletic excellence for the youth of Haiti.
