ASDASH Multi-Sport Competitions
ASDASH is the acronym for the Association pour le Developpement Athletisme et Academic Haitien. ASDASH is a non-profit organization registered in Haiti that is spearheaded by H.E.R.O. President Dr. Steven Kirby. The ten member committee is comprised of Haitian nationals and foreigners who have come together to implement nation-wide athletic competitions in track and field, tennis, and chess. In just two years ASDASH and H.E.R.O. have worked together to hold over ten multi-sport competitions. The competitions take place in a single day and bring together hundreds of athletes between the ages of 6-18 for tournaments in track and field, tennis, and chess. ASDASH is the only organization in Haiti that has ever held a multi-sport competition in these three sports. ASDASH has a formal selection process for recruiting and training the most talented athletes in preparation for international competitions including CARIFTA, CAC Age Group, and USTA events. The H.E.R.O. Academy and ASDASH work hand-in-hand to not only recruit and train athletes, but to also provide athletes with the opportunty to put their training to the test in high level rigorous competitions. ASDASH is recognized and supported by both the Haiti Track and Field and Tennis Federations. The goal is to expand the multi-sport competitions to include additional sports including basketball, volleyball, soccer, and table tennis. Through training and competition junior athletes in Haiti will have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential.
